Why wood

Warmth against all that white and glass

Florida houses are bright: white walls, tile floors, sliders to the lanai. Builders and designers keep putting wood overhead in their showcase homes because a stained plank ceiling or a run of dark beams warms the room and makes it feel finished.

Homes built with plain drywall can get the same effect. If you would like to see what that looks like in practice, look through Trim My Crib’s wood ceiling and lanai projects.
